When life gives you lemons,…

Lemons
Hey everyone,

just a quick explanation for those of you who might be wondering why there’s no new content: There’s a half-written review of the new Stormcast Eternal models sitting in my WordPress backend, but unfortunately I don’t see it going anywhere for now.

The truth is that I am currently going through a bit of a rough patch: The non-profit organisation I have been working for over the last couple of years is currently in dire straits and lacks sufficient funding to keep me on as an employee. So I guess I’ll be without a job in the near future — awesome!

What this means is…well, you can probably imagine what it means. What it means for you, at any rate, is that the posting schedule here on the blog might be a bit haphazard for a while, with the odd bout of radio silence thrown in. Sorry for that, but please bear with me while I am finding my feet. I am pretty confident there’ll always be more little plastic men in my future, and also more blog posts about them!

Anyway, you have been warned. Take care now, and godspeed!

As always, thanks for looking and stay tuned for more!

  1. Fingers crossed you get things sorted out for yourself man. Don’t worry about the blog, real life for you is much more important.

  2. Sorry to hear that dude. Being made redundant sucks balls. Hope you manage to find something quickly

  3. I feel your pain Brother – happened to me once as well, and it sucked a whole big bag of dick. If it is any consolation, it turned out to be the start of a whole bunch of really good life-stuff – not exactly ‘the best thing that ever happened to me’ drivel, but it all came good in the end. I have my fingers crossed it works out well for you too dude – keep marching on 🙂

  4. Best of luck dude! It happens to the best of us.

  7. Oh shit… 😦 Sorry, man! Good luck finding something new!

  8. Good luck finding another job, man. It’s difficult, I know. 😦

  9. Really sorry to hear this. I hope things turn around for you very soon.

  10. Sorry to hear about that. Hopefully you’ll find another job soon.

  11. I’m sorry to hear about your situation, K-Sci. If you want to move to the US, we’re always hiring at my job. 😀 Actually I have no idea what you do… Feel free to hit me up if there’s anything I can do for you at all. Sort your life and don’t worry about your hobby schedule, brother. We’ll be okay for a little while. That said, hobby can be a great solace in your downtime, so take comfort in that and never feel guilty for indulging in a little painting. Oddly enough, soul-searching is much easier with a brush in your hand. Job searching, not so much.

    • Heartily agree about the hobby being great for soul-searching! Situations change, people come and go, the brush-in-hand meditation levels it out.

  12. Bad luck there. Really sorry to hear it. The same happened to me years ago, and it totally sucks while you’re in the thick of it. Keep your chin up – I’m sure it will work out.

  13. Oh man, I’m sorry to hear about that buddy. Keep in touch as much as you can and keep us updated. You’re a huge inspiration to me, and I know how hard it can be to maintain a hobby like this when money is tight.

  14. Alexander Says:

Hi mate, sorry to hear that. I hope you’re back on your feet again as soon as possible.

Cheers and let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

  15. Sorry to hear about your job troubles. Try and keep an opened mind about the situation. I am sure things will work out in the end. Best of luck. We will all still be here when you get around to the hobby again!

  16. Sorry to hear that, good luck in the job hunt!

  17. Legio Ultra Says:

  19. greggles Says:

Hold steadfast buddy! Hopefully everything will work out. Best luck and wishes for a quick resolution!

  20. That’s shit news – good luck getting sorted out and back on your feet. And don’t worry about us, we’ll cope (somehow!) without your regular updates.
When I was in a similar situation in the past I was foolish enough to feel guilty about the time I spent sitting painting miniatures and the money I spent out of my (very limited) funds on them. With hindsight though I realise how good it was for me, a bit of gentle, meditative escapism. So don’t forget that you owe it to yourself to enjoy your life no matter what. This too shall pass 🙂

  21. Good luck & I hope you find a new opportunity soon.

  22. Sorry to hear that, but I’m sure you will work your way through this.
    Best luck!

  23. Kebekoi Says:

Damn it’s a sad news! But keep up, mate, you’ll find another job for sure. I myself just found one after some months of hiatus. Anyway take care of you and your RL and don’t worry for your blog, we’ll be here at the time!!

    Good luck Kraut!!
    Keb.

  24. Hey man, just finished going through your blog, a lot of really great stuff. While I didn’t always agree with your reviews of the new releases I did always appreciate the effort you put in to them and it was nice to get a fresh look on a miniature that I may or may not have liked.

Honestly I could write paragraphs about all the cool miniatures that you’ve put out.

Anyway I’m sorry to hear that you’ve fallen on rough times man but like everyone has said once you look after yourself you will always have the little plastic men to come back to.

  25. Hope it all works out for you K-Sci.

  26. Augustus b'Raass Says:

Very sorry to hear about the job situation, buddy. I hope you get things sorted. Someone with your dedication, intellect, and attention to detail is worth a lot to a plethora of different employers. Keep that in mind. Don’t worry about your blog. We’ll be here.

  27. euansmith Says:

All the best with landing a new job… you could always try a bit of human sacrifice to the Ruinous Powers… I understand Tzeench is the go to God for career advancement.
